Overview
High Density Low Power Consumption Optical Networking
The Apollo 9400 Series constitutes an advanced portfolio of optical networking platforms specifically developed for major communication service providers and webscale operators. These systems are defined by their combination of ultra-high density and minimal power consumption, establishing a superior benchmark for large scale network deployment. The Apollo 9400 Series architecture is engineered to maximise spectral efficiency across core transport and aggregation layers.
The initial unit, the 2RU Apollo 9408 transport platform, exemplifies this performance standard, providing up to 9.6 Terabits (T) of immediate density, with a system architecture capable of scaling to 19.2T. Crucially, the Apollo 9400 Series achieves exceptional power efficiency, operating at less than 0.12 Watts per Gigabit (W/G), which substantially optimises ongoing infrastructure expenditure. Furthermore, the Apollo 9400 Series natively integrates vital security and capacity functions, including Layer 1 optical encryption, C+L band expansion for increased fibre utility, and full compatibility with open optical line systems, ensuring secure and durable network longevity. Specifying the Apollo 9400 Series delivers the necessary operational foundation for high-performance, next generation networks.
